Why Bolehall Properties Need Regular Gutter Cleaning
Bolehall's position on the south bank of the River Anker, alongside Warwickshire Moor, creates a damp microclimate that makes gutter maintenance essential.
River Anker Moisture & Moss
Bolehall sits directly on the south bank of the River Anker. Properties along Amington Road, Moor Lane, and the streets nearest the river valley experience higher humidity year-round. This accelerates moss and algae growth on roof tiles and inside gutters, creating heavy, compacted silt that standard cleaning can't shift.
Warwickshire Moor Wetland Debris
The Warwickshire Moor Local Nature Reserve sits right alongside Bolehall's residential streets off Moor Lane. Its pools, reed beds and mature trees generate a constant stream of organic debris — seeds, leaf litter and windblown material — that settles in gutters on surrounding properties, particularly during autumn and spring.
Victorian & Edwardian Rooflines
Bolehall's older properties along Amington Road and Kettlebrook Road date back to the early 1900s and some even to the Victorian era. Complex rooflines with valleys, bay window gutters and original cast-iron drainage collect debris faster than modern profiles and are harder to reach without specialist equipment.
Viaduct Corridor Sheltering
The Grade II listed Bolehall Viaduct — the famous 19 Arches — creates a sheltered corridor where damp air from the River Anker lingers. Properties in the streets around the viaduct and along Glascote Road experience noticeably more moss growth on their north-facing gutters and fascias.

I've been cleaning gutters professionally for over 25 years and Bolehall is one of the closest areas to our Tamworth base — literally a couple of minutes across the viaduct. I know these streets well.
The older properties along Amington Road and Kettlebrook Road have some beautiful Edwardian detailing, but their complex rooflines and cast-iron guttering can be challenging to maintain. The riverside location means moss builds up faster than you'd expect, and the trees around Warwickshire Moor add heavy leaf volumes every autumn.
Whether it's a Victorian terrace, an inter-war semi on Bamford Street, or one of the newer builds near Rene Road — every property gets the same SkyVac clean, GoPro photographs, and fixed-price guarantee.
How We Clean Your Gutters
Our six-step process is the same for every property in Bolehall — from Victorian terraces on Amington Road to modern semis near Rene Road.
1. GoPro Before Photos
We photograph every gutter run before we start, so you can see exactly what we found — even if you're not home.
2. SkyVac Vacuum Clean
Industrial SkyVac with carbon-fibre reach poles cleans all gutters from the ground. No ladders, no roof access, no risk of damage to tiles or property.
3. Downpipes Flushed
Every downpipe is flushed through with water to confirm it's draining properly. Blockages are cleared on the spot.
4. Damage Flagged
Cracked joints, sagging brackets, corroded iron guttering — we photograph and report any damage so you can make informed decisions about repairs.
5. GoPro After Photos
Matching after photos of every gutter run — sent to you by email. You'll see exactly what was removed and the clean result.
6. Site Left Clean
All debris is bagged and taken away. Your paths, driveway and garden are left exactly as we found them.
Bolehall Housing — What We Clean
Bolehall has a distinctive mix of housing spanning over a century — from Victorian and Edwardian properties through to modern estates. We clean them all.
Older Properties: Amington Road & Kettlebrook Road
Bolehall's oldest housing lines its main roads — double-fronted semis and terraces dating from the late Victorian and Edwardian era. Complex rooflines with valleys, bay window gutters, and in many cases original cast-iron drainage that's over a century old. These need careful cleaning to avoid damage to ageing joints.
Classic Semis: Bamford Street, Leedham Avenue, Argyle Avenue
Bolehall expanded significantly during the inter-war and immediate post-war period. These properties typically have rendered or pebble-dashed walls, concrete tile roofs, and a mix of original iron and replaced uPVC guttering. Many have had rear extensions, conservatories, and garage conversions that create new gutter junctions.
Later Estates: Rene Road, Ferrers Road, Dormer Avenue
The streets around Rene Road and Ankermoor feature purpose-built estates from the 1970s and 1980s. Typically semi-detached with flat-roof porches, box gutters, and original plastic guttering now approaching 40–50 years old. The proximity to Warwickshire Moor means these properties often accumulate heavy debris.
Properties Near Warwickshire Moor & the River Anker
Homes along Moor Lane and the streets nearest the River Anker get the worst of it — increased moisture from the river valley, organic debris from Warwickshire Moor's reed beds and pools, and mature trees that shed heavily every autumn. These properties often benefit from twice-yearly cleaning.

About Bolehall
Bolehall is a village on the south bank of the River Anker, immediately south-east of Tamworth town centre within the B77 postcode area. Historically part of Warwickshire — the old parish of Bolehall and Glascote — it became part of Staffordshire when boundaries were redrawn. The manor of Bole Hall is first recorded in 1390, owned by Lord John de Clinton, and the area has been continuously settled for over six centuries.
The village's most prominent landmark is the Bolehall Viaduct — known locally as the 19 Arches. Designed by George Stephenson and opened in 1839 for the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway, this Grade II listed sandstone viaduct carries the Cross Country railway line across the River Anker valley. At 220 metres long and 14 metres high, with 19 arches spanning the river, two roads and open land, it remains one of Tamworth's most impressive Victorian engineering structures.
Today Bolehall is a settled residential area with a strong community identity. The Bolehall Swifts FC — founded in 1953 — play at the Rene Road Ground and run teams from junior level through to senior. The Bolehall Manor Club, housed in an eighteenth-century Grade II listed manor house on Amington Road, has been a private members' club since 1939. And the Warwickshire Moor Local Nature Reserve — designated in 2006 off Moor Lane — offers pools, boardwalks, and wildlife habitat where residents can spot ducks, swans, buzzards, and even deer.
Why Bolehall Gutters Block
The combination of riverside moisture from the Anker, wetland debris from Warwickshire Moor, and mature trees along the area's older streets creates ideal conditions for heavy gutter blockages. Victorian and Edwardian properties with complex rooflines collect debris faster, while the sheltered river valley slows drying — meaning moss and silt compact rather than break down.
Best Time to Clean in Bolehall
Late November to early December is ideal — once the mature trees along Amington Road and around Warwickshire Moor have finished shedding. Properties directly backing onto the moor or the river may benefit from twice-yearly cleaning (spring and late autumn). We offer a Seasonal Plan for regular scheduling.
How We Get to Bolehall
Bolehall is one of the closest areas to our Tamworth base — less than a mile away and just a couple of minutes' drive. We head south through Kettlebrook, picking up Kettlebrook Road past the industrial estate, and we're straight into Bolehall via the 19 Arches viaduct. From there, Amington Road and Glascote Road give us direct access to every street in the area — the older terraces along the main roads, the inter-war semis on Bamford Street and Leedham Avenue, and the later estates around Rene Road and Ferrers Road.
Being so close means we can often fit Bolehall jobs in at short notice. If you need an emergency visit after a storm or a last-minute clean before a property sale, we can usually get there within 24–48 hours.

Bolehall Gutter Cleaning — Frequently Asked Questions
How much does gutter cleaning cost in Bolehall?
A small terraced house starts at £75. Most Bolehall homes are semi-detached at £95. Standard detached is £120, and larger detached homes are £155. These are fixed prices — no call-out fees, no travel charges, no extras.
How quickly can you get to Bolehall?
Bolehall is less than a mile from our base — literally a two-minute drive across the viaduct. We usually book jobs within 3–5 working days of your enquiry, and can handle emergencies within 24–48 hours.
My property backs onto Warwickshire Moor — do I need more frequent cleaning?
Yes, very likely. Properties near the moor accumulate debris much faster due to the wetland vegetation, mature trees and increased moisture from the pools and River Anker. We recommend at least annual cleaning, with many moor-side properties benefiting from a twice-yearly schedule. Our Seasonal Plan handles this automatically.
Can you clean original cast-iron gutters on older Bolehall properties?
Absolutely. Many of the Victorian and Edwardian houses along Amington Road and Kettlebrook Road still have original cast-iron guttering. Our SkyVac system cleans gently from below without putting any weight or pressure on ageing joints or brackets. We photograph any corrosion or damage we find so you can plan repairs.
Do I need to be at home?
Not usually. As long as we can access the gutters from ground level, we can clean while you're out. We send the full set of GoPro before and after photos by email, and you can arrange payment afterwards.
I'm a landlord with rental properties in Bolehall — do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer portfolio discounts for landlords with multiple properties. We can clean several properties on the same day, provide individual photo reports for each, and issue a single invoice. See our Landlord Services page for details.
Our Bolehall Service Guarantee
If you're not happy with any aspect of our work, we'll come back and re-clean at no charge. Every job is photographed with GoPro — so there's complete transparency about what was done and the result.
